CNC Programmer
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide CNC machine programming, setup and machining expertise in support of daily production and prototyping.
- Develop CNC programs using Mastercam, GibbsCAM or Partmaker.
- Configure tools and ensure efficient production.
- Analyze blueprints to calculate correct part dimensions for tool selection, machine speeds and feed rates.
- Occasionally set up and operate CNC equipment.
- Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements.
- Communicate recommendations to engineering to modify parts and processes.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School or GED Diploma required - Associates Degree or Certification in related field preferred.
- 5+ years CNC programming using Mastercam, UGibbsCAM and/or Partmaker.
- 5+ years operating CNC machines with metals.
- Some experience doing setup and troubleshooting of CNC machines
- Use of precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work.
- Read Instrumentation and gauges to accurately measure dimensions on parts being machined.
- Must be proficient in G-code and M-code programming.
- Experience selecting tooling and machining resources for the manufacture of parts.
- Blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities.
