Job Summary:
This role requires a skilled CNC programmer/operator with expertise in machining processes, troubleshooting, and CAD programming. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quality assurance, the ability to mentor team members, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing processes in a collaborative and dynamic environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Job Duties:
- Safely operate CNC machines to produce quality products, meeting production goals set by management.
- Program production parts using CAD models and save programs to the company’s network server per procedures.
- Design and create work holding fixtures while optimizing processes and updating work instructions.
- Collaborate with QC to obtain first-piece approval and develop in-process inspection plans.
- Provide training to operators across shifts and mentor setup personnel when applicable.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with programmers and operators as needed.
- Maintain traceability by documenting work in inspection plans, production logs, routers, and ERP systems.
- Ensure calibrated measuring tools are used, addressing any calibration issues promptly.
- Support additional tasks, including CNC setup, manual machining, tool management, and cleaning, as required.
- Promote a clean, organized work environment while fostering teamwork and maintaining a positive attitude.
- Adhere to quality policies and contribute to the effectiveness of the QMS, product safety, and ethical practices.
Qualifications:
- Ability to interpret customer drawings, work instructions, and in-process control plans, with a solid understanding of GD&T.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating and setting up CNC/EDM equipment.
- At least 1 year of experience using CAD systems such as Master Cam, Unigraphics, Esprit, SolidWorks, or similar (additional training may be required).
- 1 year of experience programming CNC machines.
- Skilled in sequencing processes to achieve quality and financial objectives.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities, including expertise in speeds and feeds, work holding, tool selection, and machining techniques.
- Experience working with QC to create in-process inspection plans.
