Job Description
As a CNC Mill Setup Technician and Operator in the aerospace industry, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process of precision components for aerospace applications. Your responsibilities will involve the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC milling machines to produce high-quality parts that meet strict aerospace standards.
Setup and Preparation:
Prepare CNC milling machines for operation by programming, tooling setup, and fixture setup according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Conduct tool length and diameter offsets, fixture offsets, and workpiece datum setup to ensure accurate machining processes.
Verify the CNC program for correctness and optimize machining parameters for efficiency and quality.
Machine Operation:
Operate CNC milling machines to produce aerospace components with precision and accuracy.
Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
Conduct in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy and surface finish of machined parts.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
Troubleshoot machine errors, tooling issues, and program anomalies to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn-out components to ensure optimal machine performance.
Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to address technical issues and implement improvements in machine performance and efficiency.
Quality Assurance:
Adhere to strict quality control procedures and standards to meet aerospace industry requirements and regulations.
Conduct final inspection of machined parts to ensure conformance to customer specifications and quality standards.
Document production activities, inspection results, and any deviations from standards for traceability and quality assurance purposes.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to aerospace manufacturing operations.
Participate in continuous training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge in CNC machining techniques, aerospace materials, and industry best practices.
Shift:
2nd shift hours plus overtime

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in machining or related field preferred.
Proven experience as a CNC mill setup technician and operator in the aerospace industry.
Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation, with knowledge of G-code and CAD/CAM software.
Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting parameters for aerospace materials such as aluminum, titanium, and composites.
Familiarity with aerospace quality standards and inspection techniques, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality, precision parts.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
