ABOUT THIS CNC MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN JOB
You are at the heart of our dynamic manufacturing team. Your main responsibilities include creating and maintaining CNC programs, interpreting intricate 2D prints and solid models, and developing component set-ups. You also have the freedom to conjure custom fixtures as needed, showcasing your creativity.
Your expertise is crucial in breathing life into new manufacturing processes and fine-tuning existing ones for optimal machining and cost-effectiveness. Working closely with our manufacturing and engineering teams, you provide essential support to bring projects to fruition.
You also take on a mentorship role, guiding machinists and sharing your knowledge. You're responsible for specifying tooling, testing innovations, and occasionally operating CNC work centers. You even have the opportunity to quote outside contract work and provide invaluable support to our vendors.
Would you excel in this position? Here's what you need:
- 5+ years of experience in CNC programming, machining, tool/fixture design, and process development
- Proficiency in machining practices, cutting tools, work-holding, and part setups
- Ability to translate all engineering drawing requirements as needed for the development of CNC programs
- Ability to read/interpret engineering prints
- Ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) and apply them to machining processes
- Familiarity with the set-up and operation of CNC machines
- Ability to handle tooling up to 50 lbs.
