RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform all tasks and responsibilities in line with ISO/IATF 16949 and Inland Quality System standards.
- Meet regularly with CNC Machining Department personnel to assess production performance, address machinery/equipment issues, minimize downtime, and enhance operator efficiency.
- Coordinate and oversee all scheduled maintenance for machinery and essential equipment.
- Manage employee work schedules within the department, ensuring alignment with production demands.
- Review and approve weekly time sheets for all team members under direct supervision.
- Maintain inventories of perishable tooling and other department supplies, ensuring stock levels are adequate.
- Contribute to the Estimating and Quoting process for machining operations.
- Report directly to the Plant Operations Manager, addressing any department-related concerns.
- Facilitate decision-making related to machinery and equipment procurement.
- Ensure adherence to product routing in accordance with Flow Diagrams and Lot Tickets.
- Issue Tooling Work Orders and Maintenance Repair Orders as necessary.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to incorrectly loaded parts, fixtures, tooling, and other machining-related problems.
- Participate as a member of the APQP and FEMA Teams.
- Contribute to the Continuous Improvement Teams initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement in CNC processes, tooling, and equipment daily.
- Participate in the quarterly Management Review and Business Meetings.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for all team members within the department.
- Coordinate training initiatives for department employees.
- Assess and recommend staffing needs for the department.
- Communicate with customers as required to address needs and ensure satisfaction.
- Ensure full compliance with all quality system standards.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and rules of conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Supervisor/Manager in a machining environment.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience with CNC machines and mechanical tools.
- High School Diploma or GED required; a 2+ year degree in an engineering-related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience, including working with vertical, horizontal, and turning centers.
- 5+ years of experience with manual and automated machining equipment (e.g., lathes, grinders, mills).
- Proficient in fixture design and construction.
- Experience with Computer-Aided Machining (programming) and reading blueprints.
- Knowledgeable in using various measuring instruments and proficient in geometric tolerance.
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to work with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Broad background in tooling and machine tool procurement, installation, and setup.
- Able to read and interpret work instructions and visual drawings.
- Solid leadership, motivation, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and computer skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (bilingual in Spanish is a plus).
- The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with ISO/IATF 16949 System Documentation.
- Project Management skills.
- Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
