Maintenance Technician - Non-Exempt
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for a range of duties related to the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facility equipment. The role supports the achievement of business goals by adhering to safety, predictive, and preventive maintenance systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform emergency repairs of production equipment during operations and scheduled maintenance during downtime.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with CNC machines, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform basic machinist tasks as required.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to complete maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and test equipment to ensure proper function.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment as needed.
- Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Organize parts and tools storage.
- Ensure regular and dependable attendance and physical presence on-site.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong technical skills in troubleshooting and maintaining CNC machines, including Makino, Mori Seiki, and Haas models.
- Proficiency in CNC machine maintenance and repair.
- Basic machinist and mathematical skills.
- Ethical conduct, strong communication skills, and a results-driven approach.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-4 years of manufacturing experience.
- Experience in equipment repair and maintenance is required; experience with mills and lathes preferred.
- CNC machine experience is required, including familiarity with Fanuc controls (Haas, Mori Seiki, Makino).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred but not required.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to shop floor conditions, including fumes, airborne particles, noise, extreme temperatures, vibration, and moving machinery.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as earplugs, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots is required. Disposable masks are optional.
- Noise levels may be high in certain areas.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to talk and hear, with frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

No travel is required for this position.
