We are on the hunt for a skilled and dedicated CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. As a CNC Machinist/Programmer, you will play a pivotal role in producing high-quality parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines. You will have the opportunity to showcase your technical skills and contribute to our company's production efficiency and quality. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a challenging and rewarding work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts and processes.
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines as they arise.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
- Certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus.
- Proven experience as a CNC operator, specifically with 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
- Comfortable with setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes.
- Experience with Okuma controls is highly desirable.
- An eye for detail and skills in working with complex, precision parts and machinery.
- Strong understanding of the machining process and a keen interest in keeping up to date with new technologies and methods in the field.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong ability to think critically and creatively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items.
