CNC Machinist
Seeking an experienced programming CNC Machinist for full-time 1st shift positions. The ideal candidates would be as follows:
Seeking an experienced programming CNC Machinist for full-time 1st shift positions. The ideal candidates would be as follows:
- 3-5+ years experience in setup and operation of CNC mills and/or lathes, with a primary focus on CNC mills. Manual machine experience is a plus. (CNC vertical mills, Hardinge Bridgeport with Okuma controls, Okuma lathe, and Samsung lathe with Fanuc control.)
- Experienced in working with CNC machines, both turning and milling preferred.
- Setup and operate the various shop equipment including but not limited to CNC machining centers, CNC lathes, manual mills and lathes, grinders, and saws, using vises and fixtures.
- Understands CNC Programs. Must have a strong working knowledge of G-code for programming. Mastercam knowledge is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in Cutting Tool Selection, Speeds and Feeds. Ability to make tool adjustments and changes.
- Perform secondary operations as required: Deburring, etc.
- Must be able to operate multiple machines simultaneously.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand Geometric and Standard tolerancing.
- Ability to inspect all machined components verifying accuracy, completeness, and blueprint compliance using micrometers, calipers and other standard shop tools.
- Must have excellent basic math/shop math skills. Experience with the Metric system desired, but not required.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure.
- Work independently maintaining and cleaning the machinery, tooling and work area in a safe, clean and efficient environment.
- Must be able to multi-task and be flexible enough to learn and grow with a fast-evolving company.
- Strong ability to understand written and oral instruction. Give full attention to what people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding and logic to carry out written or oral instructions.
- Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are required.
- Safety minded.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be quality conscious.
- A willingness to manage ones own time with the ability to work alone and as well as a team.
- Assist in helping other operators to maintain production and quality.
- Concentration skills to work for long periods on repetitive tasks.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of 2D or 3D CAD system
- Knowledge and experience using the Metric System
- Knowledge of CNC Machining CAM system
- Ability to Set up and operate Manual Machines, Milling & Turning
- Set up and run multiple machines simultaneously.
- Creation and maintenance of machining operation data sheets and documentation.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. with varying frequency.
- Other tasks as assigned by Management.
