CNC Machinist (1st Shift)

$24/hr - $28/hr + UNLIMITED OT Potential (20+ hrs a week)
Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a client in the manufacturing industry looking to hire a CNC Machinist! The position is 1st shift, and the company wants a machinist with at least 2-3 years of experience.
Responsibilities
· Read and interpret engineering detail drawings
· Set-up, program, and operate CNC machines (Mori-Seiki TL40 and Mazak V550, V515, ATC40, and SQT18) to machine products within all tolerances specified on drawing
· Upload and download CNC programs to Mazaks using Cam Links software
· Execute job set-ups to maximize surface feet per minute (SFPM)
· Verify parts produced are within tolerance and finish requirements
· Make recommendations as to efficiency/optimization to machining/processes
· Perform daily preventative maintenance on CNC machines
· Ability to move parts and equipment safely
· Read and interpret documents such as: safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, diagrams, procedure manual
· Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition
· Other duties assigned by Management
Qualifications
Ideal Experience:
- High school diploma or GED (an associate's degree, trade school certification, or relevant certifications are a plus).
- 2+ years of experience as a machinist
- Proficient in setting up, editing, and operating CNC machines, particularly Mori-Seiki TL40 and Mazak V550, V515, ATC40, and SQT18.
- Experience in editing and modifying G-code for specific parts and jobs, ensuring precision and adherence to engineering specifications. – Must have
- Strong ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with performing complex machining operations, ensuring precise tolerances and high-quality finishes.
- Experience using Cam Links software for uploading and downloading CNC programs.
- Knowledge of and experience in performing daily preventive maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Experience working in a high mix low volume production environment, such as another OEM or Custom CNC Machine job shop.
- Any background in programming CNC machines from scratch will be considered a valuable asset.
- Ability to work contract-to-hire with flexibility for overtime, including half-day shifts every other Saturday (not required but preferred for candidates willing to work significant overtime).
