The Role: CNC Machinist
As a CNC Machinist, you'll be a vital part of our Machine Shop team. Reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor, you'll be responsible for operating CNC drills and drill presses to create precision parts that meet our exacting standards. This is a night-shift position with potential for overtime, and training will be provided during the morning shift to ensure you're set up for success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC Machinery: Your primary task will be operating CNC drills and drill presses with precision and efficiency.
- Equipment Maintenance: You'll perform regular checks on lubricating fluids and conduct preventative maintenance on the equipment you operate, ensuring it runs smoothly.
- Variety of Machinery: In addition to CNC drills and presses, you'll also work with milling machines, horizontal boring mills, and horizontal lathes. Water Jet, Presses, Brake Presses, water jets.
- Handling Large Materials: You'll be working with oversized metal parts and materials, demonstrating your prowess in machining.
- Quality Control: Learn to perform internal quality control checks during machining procedures to ensure the highest quality end products.
- Machine Setup: Set up raw, semi-finished, or used materials onto the chuck/machine and perform jobs following our shop practices and procedures.
- Shop Maintenance: Keep your workspace clean and remove shavings as needed to maintain a safe and organized environment.
- Adaptability: Be ready to take on other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of our team.
Qualifications:
- Experience: You should have a minimum of 3-5 years of machining experience, especially with CNC machinery.
- Controls Familiarity: Experience with Fanuc controls and G-Code is preferred, showcasing your ability to work with advanced technology.
- Drilling Expertise: Experience with CNC Drills or conventional Drills is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Physical Fitness: This role requires good physical shape to handle heavy machine chucks, wrenches, and other equipment safely.
- Precision Matters: Familiarity with precision measuring tools like micrometers and calipers is a required.
