CNC Programmer

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide CNC machine programming, setup and machining expertise in support of daily production and prototyping.
• Develop CNC programs using Mastercam, GibbsCAM or Partmaker.
• Configure tools and ensure efficient production.
• Analyze blueprints to calculate correct part dimensions for tool selection, machine speeds and feed rates.
• Occasionally set up and operate CNC equipment.
• Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements.
• Communicate recommendations to engineering to modify parts and processes.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High School or GED Diploma required - Associates Degree or Certification in related field preferred.
• 5+ years CNC programming using Mastercam, UGibbsCAM and/or Partmaker.
• 5+ years operating CNC machines with metals.
• Some experience doing setup and troubleshooting of CNC machines
• Use of precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work.
• Read Instrumentation and gauges to accurately measure dimensions on parts being machined.
• Must be proficient in G-code and M-code programming.
• Experience selecting tooling and machining resources for the manufacture of parts.
• Blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities.
