CNC Lathe Machinist – second shift

We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join the second shift production team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must be experienced with doing setups and programming
• Using data supplied by Engineering, determine and execute proper bores, tapers, counter-bores, hubs and finished outside diameter on raw plastic
• Choose proper cutters and drills based on parameters of each specific job
• Observe progress of machining and watch for errors; inspect finished work for accuracy
• Work with engineering to develop specialized procedures for non-routine jobs

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3-5 years experience running Mazak CNC lathe
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain demanding physical operations throughout the work day
• Attitude: Strong desire to succeed as part of a team; interest in contributing to a positive company culture; willingness to persist until the job is done right for the customer and embrace the company philosophy
• Mechanical Skills: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance; committed to the safe operation of machinery
• Technical and Design Skills: Ability to read blueprints, drawings and models, and analyze such plans for proper use; familiarity with design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models
• Attention to Detail: Operating the Manual Lathe require constant management of minute details; small errors can be extremely costly, both in money and time, and across multiple departments
• Organization: Strong ability to plan, prioritize and multi-task; the Material Handler/Stockroom Assistant will juggle multiple tasks and work areas simultaneously, and meticulous organization is essential
• Computer Skills: Ability to navigate and use a desktop computer, including internet browsers, email and word processing
• Math Skills: Knowledge of basic arithmetic
