About the Job
Position Description
Individual positions may be responsible for some or all of the listed duties and/or other related duties:
- Monitor students in the use and care of equipment to prevent injuries.
- Observe, record, and maintain student files per Federal, State, and Agency policies.
- Provide assistance in lifting and caring for students, which may include toileting, feeding, and hygiene.
- Transport students to and from activities/appointments when necessary.
- Continue professional growth through training sessions/workshops.

Experience Required
- Working with children
- Experience in healthcare or related field
- Experience in education or related field
Experience Preferred
- ASL (American Sign Language) skills if working with students/staff who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Braille skills if working with students who are blind/visually impaired
Education Required
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, and programs of the immediate work unit
- Understanding of agency or program rules, regulations, and operating procedures
- Behavior management techniques
- Proficiency with computer programs/software and office equipment relevant to position
- CPR/First Aid certification
- High School Diploma
Education Preferred
- Certified Health Assistant
- Associates Degree OR completion of 60 units of college coursework OR a valid Paraprofessional certification
- Current CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention Training certifications or ability to obtain within required timeline
