Position: CMM Programmer Operator/ Lab Tech
Department: Quality
Responsibilities
To run CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) for all components produced by the company supporting Advanced Quality, Production and ensures Quality System requirements are met as well as determining areas that require further improvement.
Prepare Direct Computer Control (D.C.C.) Programs for part and fixture layouts.
Perform calibration of new fixtures and New Measuring instruments, etc.
Complete required labels for new fixtures and assigns location.
Keep an up-to-date inventory list of all fixtures.
Remove obsolete fixtures/measuring instruments to storage.
Participate in fixture design meetings to provide insight/suggestions on design improvements.
Summarize CMM report and translates results into AIAG format together with the Quality Specialist.
Prepare parts for GP6 requirement; complete all submitted documentation and report per procedure.
Prepare PPAP layout, Customer requested layout or plant requested layout for improvement.
Perform annual Dimensional layout as per procedures.
Perform capability/statistical studies as per procedures.
Participate as a team member on the Internal Audit Team.
Administer Destructive quality assurance inspections and tests on materials, products, components, parts and process according to established quality control methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained as per customer requirements.
Operates various Destructive testing equipment and machines to verify reliability of parts as required, and maintains accurate quality records. (Band Saws, Air Chisels, Plasma Cutters, Pushout Machine and Hand Tools)
Maintains all documentation and/or paperwork relevant to day-to-day activities.
Assigns all rejected material to appropriate areas.
Reports any discrepancies on non-conformances to management.
Audit of In-Process inspection of each process in assigned area as per the In-Process procedure
Assists in implementing Statistical Process Controls (SPC) and maintains reports.
Assists in establishing and understanding the standard process parameters.
Provides support to Quality engineering.
Participates in providing suggestions to reduce costs and improve processes.
Maintains Reliability test requirements – verifies & maintains calibration of equipment.
Adheres to IATF 16949 requirements by documenting all activities.
Any other reasonable request made by management.
Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to.
Ensures he/she is in full compliance with U.S. and/or state laws, while representing the company or during the use of any company provided equipment.
Qualifications
Work Experience (provide details and minimum # of years required)
Sound understanding of Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD & T)
Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings
In-depth knowledge of calibration procedures required to perform job responsibilities
Quality System procedures and processes
Minimum 3 years work experience in automotive/manufacturing industry
Minimum 2 years previous experience in a Quality Assurance environment
Sound metrology and Statistical Process Control (SPC) knowledge
Knowledge of various testing methods (i.e. reliability testing, hardness tester, caliper, micrometer, etc.)
General operating knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
Skills (language, technical, computer etc.)

Effective use of problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to deal with conflict/resistance
Education
High school diploma .
Lean
