The Global Customer Success (GCS) organization is leading the effort to create the desired customer experience through support offer creation, driving digital transformation across our tools, and delivering operational excellence across CE&S.
The Global Security Solution Area team is looking for a Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) to drive various projects, programs, and initiatives that underpin Microsoft's security solutions portfolio.
This fast-paced and agile team is responsible for partnering with the other internal crisis teams in identifying inefficiencies/areas of improvement, designing and scoping initiatives, working with cross-organizational stakeholders to incubate these initiatives, and then working with internal scale engines to mainstream these initiatives into full-fledged programs-across nearly every aspect of Microsoft's security business, including incident management, sales lifecycle, partner motions, business operations, thought leadership, and customer engagement.
Working closely with other internal crisis teams, you will be responsible for stewarding existing programs and strategic initiatives, while also partnering with others to identify and incubate net-new opportunities and initiatives.
You will be responsible for assisting in coordination of global crisis response and work closely across incident response forums to provide customers with best-in-class security support and guidance.

**Responsibilities**
Security Crisis Strategy & Response
- Partner with the Resilience & Crisis team in representing Global Customer Success business across all crisis response forums.
- Assist in execution of Microsoft's Crisis Response framework and facilitate customer engagement and support during crisis events.
- Work in partnership with incident response and communications teams and serve as a subject matter expert on customer outreach and customer crisis communications
- Train and prepare senior leadership and subject matters experts for external incident response engagement with customers and partners.
- Build CSU-specific field & customer processes into the MSFT crisis response framework to ensure consistent and timely engagement during major incidents.
Problem Solving & Insight
- Synthesizes findings into insights across projects, including implications that inform business decisions, leveraging executive presence to influence decisions and proactively identifying expansive ideas for company strategy, often missed by others; leverages insights to develop recommendations and seeks to provide thought leadership (e.g., trend identification, implications of competitor moves) around potential future growth opportunities and strategic issues for Microsoft. Creates frameworks and methodologies to drive problem solving and insights.
Communication
- Communicates and advocates insights to senior business leaders (e.g., Senior Directors, GM-level, CVP) and conveys viewpoints through written documents (e.g., memos, reports) and influence models (e.g., meetings, presentations) through moderate iterations of feedback and vetting; builds end-to-end storylines and creates outlines across multiples projects for junior colleagues to leverage. Delivers project findings recommendations, and implications to senior executives to facilitate senior discussions and decision making.
Business Partner Relationships
- Establishes and maintains key points of contact with internal teams (e.g., Engineering, Security Teams, Product, Marketing); manages and cultivates relationships with leaders of internal teams. Builds executive relationships (e.g., Directors, GM-level). Acts as an advisor to senior leadership on a particular area of expertise, leveraging deep technical/product knowledge and market awareness to inform strategic business decisions.
Project Leadership
- Contributes to large strategy projects and defines and manages small projects with guidance from directors as needed, leveraging team resources and junior colleagues. Manages projects independently and/or in collaboration with others.
External Engagement
- Supports delivery of external communications on behalf of the Strategy function. Supports external meetings by explaining research and analysis and answering targeted questions.
- Provides support for executive meetings.

**Qualifications**
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 7+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 7+ year of experience in presenting and collaborating with field teams and C-level leadership.
Other Requirements:
+ Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 12+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
+ OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 6+ years experience working in a customer-facing role (e.g., internal and/or external).
+ 6+ years experience leading technical projects.
+ Technical Certification in cybersecurity such asGlobal Certified Incident Handler(GCIH), GCFA, Global Certified Forensic Analyst (GNFA), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CFHI), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Security+, or equivalent, is preferred
+ Familiar with various security frameworks, standards, and best practices, such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), International Organization of Standardization (ISO), and Center for Internet Security (CIS).
Cloud Solution Architecture IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $242,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $264,000 per year.
