Job Family Definition:
The Cloud Developer builds from the ground up to meet the needs of mission-critical applications, and is always looking for innovative approaches to deliver end-to-end technical solutions to solve customer problems.
Brings technical thinking to break down complex data and to engineer new ideas and methods for solving, prototyping, designing, and implementing cloud-based solutions.
Collaborates with project managers and development partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring, and support of Cloud engagements.
The Cloud Developer provides business value expertise to drive the development of innovative service offerings that enrich HPE's Cloud Services portfolio across multiple systems, platforms, and applications.
Management Level Definition:
Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Typically 4-6 years experience
Responsibilities:
- Designs enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of end-user applications software running on local, networked, and Cloud-based platforms
- Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of the overall architecture of the product or solution
- Writes and automates Unit test plans, incorporating into the CI/CD pipeline. Identifies, debugs, and fixes issues in the code
- Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding software applications design status, project progress, and issue resolution
- Builds robust, lasting, and scalable cloud applications.
About you:
- You have experience with producing quality code using Python, Golang, or Java.
- You have experience in implementing cloud applications.
- You have experience developing APIs and backend modules.
- You have good working knowledge of RDBMS (Postgres) and NoSQL (Cassandra/ElasticSearch/Kairos DB/Druid, etc.)
- You have familiarity with at least one flavor of Linux (preferably Ubuntu/RHEL)
- You have knowledge of Cloud Platform - CoreOS, Kubernetes and Docker containers.
- You have experience in designing cloud applications using distributed cache and experience of using Redis, Hazelcast and similar products.
- You have experience with data pipelines and distributed streaming platforms like Kafka.
- You have experience with one of the cloud providers like AWS/Azure/GCP, have knowledge developing both cloud-native and cloud-agnostic applications.
Experience in one or more of the following will be considered a plus:
- You have a good understanding of Networking Technologies, various networking protocols, L2, L3 concepts.
- You have a good understanding of Cloud Security concepts and have working knowledge in Security related protocols
- You have experience in creating modern cloud-based config and telemetry solutions.
