AWS Product Owner

Plano, TX

12 Month Contract

Rate Range: $60/hour to $65/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Tech Ops Product Owner

Required general qualifications include the ability to:

• Manage a product backlog for one scrum team, including organizing/participating in agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives).
• Build, prune, and prioritize the product backlog based on customer needs and technical feasibility in collaboration with the engineering lead.
• Collaborate with the development team to break down items into executable stories that articulate business and customer value.
• Ensure the product backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all, providing direction on the order of the scrum team’s work.
• Gather and analyze feedback/metrics to inform future road mapping and ensure alignment with the product’s vision and strategy.
• Develop and implement data-driven product strategies aligned with objectives and user needs.
• Identify and address risks, threats, or opportunities that could impact product success, notifying and escalating issues when necessary.
• Analyze user data, understand market trends, and competition to inform product strategy specific to a product/feature.
• Have a clear understanding of the product vision and communicate it to the team and stakeholders.
• Contribute to a product roadmap outlining key milestones and deliverables for the product development process.
• Define product requirements that align with the product vision and strategy, and communicate them effectively to the development team.
• Plan and manage product releases to ensure the product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and achieves established goals and metrics.
• Define user experience flow.
• Ensure user stories are ready to work, including having details and acceptance criteria.
• Contribute to product thinking, design, and advocate for users while supporting the voice of the customer.

Required Domain-specific qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and services, with a particular focus on AWS Cloud Provider.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and modern developer tools and platforms (CI/CD, version control, internal developer platforms).
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal teams (DevOps, Security, Engineering, and Product Development) to gather requirements, prioritize features, and deliver cloud services that meet the organization's evolving needs.
• KPIs & Metrics: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for cloud infrastructure services, such as uptime, latency, cost efficiency, and developer experience. Continuously track and report on these metrics to drive improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a product owner in multiple domains, with at least one focused on technical product development.
• Cost Management: Work closely with FinOps teams to monitor cloud spending, develop cost-saving strategies, and optimize resource utilization across multiple cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
• At least 3 years of technical product management experience (Senior Associate/Manager level)
• Strong experience with Agile Processes (Need prior experience running agile ceremonies,

  ability to

  write super crisp stories

  (stories need to be buttoned up, so engineering team takes on they understand it all)
• High Energy and Proactive(should be proactively plan the sprint ceremonies and bring the team together with lot of energy)
• Take Ownership of work, doer – able to remove roadblocks and stay focused on goals, not shy to speak up with ideas.
• Strategic - When we have something new to build – Find out what client needs, tell what they learned, and present back.
• Great Written and Verbal Communication - Should be able to communicate complex ideas clearly regardless of audience.
• Experience working with similar technical Products -UI products building for agents on the digital platform – the same UI that the customer sees.
• Passionate about UI and working with the engineers.
• Understand the architecture – from UI to java backend and how it connects to various APIs, what are the different batches that processed.
• Working with both designers, Data engineers, as well as front end and backend engineers
• Familiar with tools like Google analytics

Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

• MBA or Master’s degree
• 2+ years of experience in Agile product management
