Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript etc.
- 5 years of experience with Front-End Development.
- 5 years of experience with web application development.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Knowledge of UX design principles.
- Proven track of record of shipping quality products/features with big impact.

Core Compute Experience team manage the user experience of critical Google Compute Engine products, including, VM Instances, Templates, Machine Images, Metadata, Committed User Discounts and Reservations. The team also covers Cloud Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) user experience. Compute Engine generates the biggest portion of business in Cloud. We focus on providing the most comprehensive, responsive and intuitive workflow for our users to accomplish the goals..

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Lead a group of engineers to work on multiple areas in Compute Engine User Interface (UI).
- Mentor the engineers, set up proper technical guidelines and processes, apply best engineering practices, provide input to technical designs and be accountable for related decisions
- Help team members plan their career development and provide guidance/coaching, conduct honest and accurate expectation quarterly check-ins and annual performance reviews.
- Build a team with healthy culture, team dynamics and well being.
- Build good relationships with cross functional teams inside and across organizations, resolve possible conflicts and be able to negotiate with partner teams for best possible outcome.
