About the Job
The purpose of the Therapist/Clinician is to assist in providing a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals while they are in recovery. The Primary Therapist / Counselor facilitates individual and group therapeutic sessions. He or she will document client progress in the electronic health record. He or she will develop, and maintain, the clients' treatment plan and will meet with the team regularly to ensure clients are progressing towards their goals.

**$7,500 SIGN ON BONUS**
Clinician Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited university or equivalent. (Master's degree preferred)
- Licensure or certification such as LSW, LAC, or LMHC, LCACA, LCAC, LCSW, LMHCA (and desire to ensure that your license to practice remains active)
- Knowledge of addictions and mental health complications. Knowledge of community health resources that support life improvement in physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health, economic security, employment, etc.
- Knowledge of the stages of alcohol and other drug withdrawals and ability to take appropriate action at each stage.
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, including:
- Confidentiality
- Patient Rights
- Professional Code of Ethics
- Discrimination
- Ability to be flexible, and work as a team.
Clinician Responsibilities:
- Complete intakes on new patient admissions and orientation procedures and schedules.
- De-escalate patient concerns and other patient problems.
- Participate in all staff meetings as scheduled to enhance communication with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Document all activities in the patient medical record and file all notes in the charts daily for UR purposes.
- Diagnose substance use disorder and/or other co-occurring psychiatric disorders within scope of practice.
- Complete the patient's biopsychosocial within 24-48-hours of the patient admission.
- Complete all documentation according to the internal company and licensing agencies standards.
- Maintain a caseload of patients (or based on facility's license and population).
- Complete SUD and Mental Health treatment plans and reviews for all patients based on the patient's level of care.
- Report to the Clinical Director or Dir. of Clinical Programming for all emergencies and/or concerns.
- Remind patients of program rules and regulations as necessary and report infractions appropriately.
- Complete all assigned documentation in a neat, accurate and timely manner.
- Complete incident reports according to policy in a timely, accurate manner.
- Interact appropriately with patients, showing them respect while maintaining boundaries.
- Exercise sound professional judgment and seek assistance as necessary to effectively manage patient behavior.
- Protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the organization's privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a health care provider.
- May access protected health information (PHI) and other patent information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties. The incumbent may only share such information with those who have a need-to-know specific patient information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment, or other facility operations.
- Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding the policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
