Location: Lynchburg, Virginia
Status: Full-Time 37.5 hours/week
Shift: Sunday-Wednesday or a Wednesday-Saturday

Summary:
The Clinician (LMHP/LMHP-E) working with the community crisis response program will provide direct and treatment to individuals in the community who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis. Crisis response services are intended to help stabilize individuals within their natural environment and avert the need for psychiatric hospitalization. This position will work with both youth and adults in order to provide assessment, safety planning, crisis intervention, and care coordination.

Required Education and Experience for Clinician – LMHP-E; Resident in Counseling
- Master's degree from an accredited college/university in an applicable human services field and registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling for clinical supervision working toward licensure.
- One year experience working with identified population served preferred. Eligible to register as as LMHP-E with the VA Board of Counseling within three months of hire.
Required Education and Experience for Clinician – LMHP; Licensed Counselor
- Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in an applicable human services field and licensure in the State of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
- One year of program specific work experience or relevant education, which indicates the individual possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

- Clinical supervision requirements and techniques.
- Community mental health and public health to provide advocacy and enhance individual treatment and access to community resources.
- Principles, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, intellectual disabilities, and substance abuse.
- Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.

Training and Physical Requirements:
- Participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training, including verbal de-escalation skills and physical techniques for consumer intervention.

Logistical Requirements:
- Ability to drive and possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Willingness and ability to travel to any worksite, transport clients, and provide services at various locations.
- Regular attendance at trainings and meetings, which may require travel to different sites.
- Availability to work modified schedules, including weekends and holidays, as required.
