About the Job
Provides nursing care for patients, participates in patient /family teaching, and performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply nursing care when it is needed. Provides leadership by serving as an advisor and preceptor and represents the Blank Infusion Center at various hospital committees/meetings as assigned by the Manager. Serves as an interdepartmental liaison between the manager, hospital and BIC staff. Reviews policies and protocols to ensure they are updated and relevant. Member of the Outpatient Infusion team and Hem/ONC Clinic Team meetings and will bring updates related to new protocols, billing, and patient issues back to the BIC team members. Serves as a liaison between Blank 4, the HEM/ONC clinic and BIC and encourages collaboration and teamwork within these groups.

Qualifications:
| Minimum Requirements Identify items that are minimally required to perform the essential functions of this position. | Preferred or Specialized Not required to perform the essential functions of the position. |
Education:
| Graduate of accredited nursing program | Bachelor’s degree preferred on hire. |
Experience:
| 2 year of experience working in a Pediatric Infusion Center |

License(s)/Certification(s):
| Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire. PALS and APHON certification within six (6) months of hire.
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. |

| Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional, educational, and lifestyle backgrounds. . Knowledge of basic computer skills. Customer/patient focused. Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.

| Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position. Work may occasionally require travel to other UPH facilities.May drive a UPH vehicle, rental or own vehicle.
