Clinical Supervisor (Part-time, 16 hours per week)

St. Edward's University of Austin, Texas invites applications for the part-time position of clinical supervisor. The clinical supervisor will assist in the oversight of operations of the St. Edward's Community Counseling Clinic. The St. Edward's Community Counseling Clinic was established to provide clinical training opportunities for students completing the Masters of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program. In addition to training opportunities for graduate students, the clinic provides counseling services to the Austin community and across Texas at a zero to reduced rate.
For consideration, a Master's degree in Counseling or a related field and full state licensure
(LPC, LMFT, LCSW) is required. Must have a working knowledge of clinical supervision and mental health counseling services delivery. Knowledge of diversity, equity, inclusion, and culturally appropriate services. Ability to work congruently within the mission of the
university, school, and department. Must have a working knowledge of HIPPA and FERPA
and an understanding of the ethical and legal standards of the counseling profession.
Must be available to work during clinic hours (Monday-Thursday 4-8 pm).
Must also have the ability to pass a criminal background check successfully.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
- Orient students to policies and procedures.
- Provide weekly individual/triadic supervision to assigned student counselor
- Provide general oversight of the clinic and students during operating hours.
- Assist students in writing treatment plans, goals, and weekly session notes.
- Monitor counseling sessions during operating hours to assess any potential for
risk and provide crisis services as needed.
- Respond to active crises during clinic operating hours.
- Evaluate assigned student counselor interns throughout the semester and
provide ongoing formative and summative feedback.
- Consult with the Clinic Director and MAC faculty.
- Engage in remediation when necessary.
- Responsible for regulatory and policy compliance as it applies to the position.
