Description | West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatryin the WVU School of Medicine in Morgantown, WV seek a Clinical Social Work Faculty provider (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of social work and counseling. In addition to providing patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching trainees from a variety of disciplines and be engaged in scholarly activities. The responsibilities for this position include service, teaching and research/scholarly activity as detailed below. (1) Service: Provision of psychotherapeutic services for the Department’s mental health outpatient programs with training and experience in the treatment of adults, trauma, anxiety/affective disorders and/or marriage and/or family therapy. Expertise in the treatment of substance use disorders and process addictions are clinical needs. (2) Teaching: Competence in teaching and clinical supervision of psychotherapy to staff therapists and Departmental trainees including: residents in the general psychiatry program, psychology interns, social work graduate students and counseling graduate students. (3) Research/Scholarly Activity: Ability to conduct independent research and/or develop a scholarly interest from concept to completed product (ie publication, national/regional presentation or similar activity) and an ability to mentor trainees to develop research from concept to completion. The successful candidate must fully meet the first and second criteria to be considered and must be receptive to and interested in professional growth and development in the third area. Qualifications: Successful candidates must have a Masters or Doctorate degree in social work or counseling from an approved program.Eligible candidates must have a West Virginia license as a LICSW or LPC or be eligible to apply for one.Applicants are required to have a strong clinical background with 3-5 years of clinical experience practicing with an independent license. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute guides a team of 170 dedicated faculty in providing compassionate patient care and advanced medicine through education, research, and outreach in the many diverse communities we serve.
