Clinical Site Manager - Caring Health Center Inc

General Description:

Provides direction to the daily clinical activities of the site as it pertains to the nursing staff. and the medical providers. Coordinates with the Front Office Operations Manager to ensure .an efficient  patient flow and productive patient encounter  Responsible for oversight of clinical staffing and assignments, supplies related to medical visit, i.e. medications, vaccines, equipment and clerical supplies.   

Reports to:                 Clinical Service Director & Chief Medical Officer

Supervises:                 RN’s, LPN’s, Medical Assistants

Salary/Status:            Exempt

Minimum Requirements:

1. RN or LPN

3-5 years experience in health care field

1. Community Health Center or Physician office experience preferred
2. Strong interest in addressing the health care needs of low income or medically underserved populations.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Monitors and maintains responsible staffing patterns; coordinates and cooperates with other Clinical Managers in ensuring nursing coverage for all Caring Health Center sites.
2. Along with Clinical Services Director, reviews and updates triaging protocols.
3. Responsible for orientation of new nursing employees with regard to job expectations and competencies.
4. Trains and educates all nurses, new and current (as needed) , on roles and responsibilities for each role- triage, immunization, pod nurse.
5. Conducts regular performance evaluation of nursing staff; recommends promotion and incentives or disciplinary action on staff members whenever appropriate to Supervisor.
6. Participates in the development of curriculum for continuing education of nursing staff.
7. Cooperates in implementing administrative initiatives such as those related to ensuring capture of all revenues/billings, site audits by commercial insurers or government agencies and regular staff training for compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. OSHA training).
8. Coordinates preceptorship for nursing students from area colleges and universities and internships for Medical Assistants.
9. Meets regularly with Supervisor and with other Clinical Managers on matters relevant to scope of responsibilities.
10. Performs other responsibilities deemed necessary by Supervisor.
11. Participate in Quality Improvement activities and serve as team leader

Working conditions and Physical Effort

Light physical effort. Requires handling of objects up to 10 pounds or some standing and walking.

Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that  require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.

This position requires the ability to use a computer workstation, viewing a CRT and operating a keyboard.

From time to time, this position requires the ability to work long and arduous hours.
