The Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) Division of San Mateo County Health is seeking a Clinical Services Manager I/II - Cordilleras Health and Healing Center.
The Clinical Services Manager I/II - Cordilleras Health and Healing Center will be the main point of contact for the campus, monitor contracts for all four MHRC providers on the Cordilleras Health and Healing Center campus and the Canyon Vista Co-Housing provider. This Clinical Services Manager (CSM) will oversee contract deliverables/performance metrics, complete contract renewals, and approve service invoices. The CSM will be responsible for facilitating bi-weekly meetings with service providers, Department of Public Works, and Behavioral Health and Recovery Services
This Clinical Services Manager I/II office will be located on the new Cordilleras Health and Healing Center campus and is expected to be onsite 4 days a week. This CSM will act as the BHRS liaison for facilities/grounds issues, referring or resolving problems directly on the campus, and participate in weekly project redesign meetings. They collaborate with PDU on construction timelines, coordinate campus meetings, conduct regular check-ins with contractors, and manage emergency preparedness plans. This Clinical Services Manager I/II will also receive daily security updates, develop plans to address illegal substances, monitor service animals, oversee smoking areas, address parking issues, facilitate client move-ins, and participate in complex case conferences.
Construction of the Cordilleras Health and Healing Center is expected to be completed in 2026. This Clinical Services Manager I/II will be reassigned to other units within Behavioral Health and Recovery Services after two years.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Extensive experience managing behavioral health programs that serve adults from diverse background, that have mental illness, substance use and/or co morbid medical issues.
- Strong project management skills
- Have at least three years of increasingly responsible experience in behavioral health or related health services program, including at least two years of significant responsibility for one or more of the following: program and budget development, funding, coordination of community resources or program evaluation and contracts management.
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Dynamic collaboration skills
About Cordilleras Mental Health Center
The Cordilleras Health and Healing Center project is to replace a sixty-two year old three-story San Mateo County-owned 117-bed psychiatric facility, with smaller residential structure and a campus center that meet modern standards of care for seriously mentally ill consumers. The project is located on unincorporated County land at 200 Edmonds Road near Redwood City, CA.
The new facilities will be built on the same parcel as the existing facility. The new facilities will consist of 4 MHRC’s each 16 beds operated by a different provider (Telecare, Stars, Caminar and Crestwood). Located in the Canyon Vista Center there will be 57 co housing units, with onsite support services provided by Telecare. The project will include demolition, site preparation, utilities, site work, infrastructure, parking, and landscaping to provide for a complete and functional facility.
