Onsite for Dermatology
Summary:
Performs secretarial duties for the clinical area/department.
Responsibilities:
- Schedules and receives patients/families for all department services (appointments, testing, procedures, etc.)
- Answers and routes telephone calls from within or outside of the organization.
- Types reports, letters and dictation, Xeroxing, faxing, and data entry into various applications.
- Coordinates office procedures and efficient operations of department.
- Communicates effectively via personal contact, phone and in writing with patients/families, hospital staff, community professionals, insurance companies, etc.
- Accurately uses all Microsoft applications necessary for reports, letters, forms, etc.??
- May assist with timekeeping and tracking of staff requirements (annual education, performance evaluations, onboarding checklists, orientation, etc. )
- Maintains office supplies.??
- Assists with project work.??
- Participates in cross coverage efforts with other secretaries/departments as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Technical Expertise
- Requires proficient secretarial skills.
- Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills required.
- Must have telephone skills.??
- Experience with Microsoft applications preferred.??
- Ability to work under stressful conditions in an appropriate manner and independently with minimal supervision and maintain confidential information.
Education and Experience
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) years' experience in secretarial duties (answers and routes phone calls, typing, data entry, etc.) required.
- Medical field and/or clinical setting with clinical/medical terminology experience preferred.??
