Job Title: Associate Scientist / Mammalian Cell Culture / Pharma Industry
Duration: 18 months contract, extendable up to 36 months

Job Description:
The Target Protein Science group within Pharmaceutical BioMedicine Design Department based in Cambridge, MA is seeking a meticulous and organized individual with previous experience in cell culture to assist with daily maintenance of 10+ cell lines to support discovery and testing of therapeutic antibodies across various disease areas.
This individual will be responsible for laboratory instrument maintenance and oversee supplies within the cell biology laboratory, in addition to assisting in development and characterization of target protein overexpression lines, as well as CRISPR KO/KI lines. Working with experienced cell and molecular biologists, this position offers an opportunity to learn methods for stable cell line generation, including cell based gene editing, flow cytometry-based sorting and analysis, and more traditional cell characterization techniques such as Western blot and immunocytochemical analysis.
Primary Responsibilities
Creation and characterization of stable mammalian cell lines for the production of target proteins for antibody discovery and validation.
Culturing and maintenance of a variety of mammalian cell lines (adherent and suspension cultures), and insect cells
Oversee supplies, instrument calibration and maintenance
Perform transfections, selections, screening, cloning, and characterization of stable cell lines
Characterization and documentation of expression results using flow cytometry analysis, gel electrophoresis, immunoblotting, and other relevant techniques
Coordinate cell line deliveries with various project team members
Coordinate receiving and delivering, mycoplasma testing, and cryopreservation of cell lines
ryofreezer organization and maintenance
Basic Qualifications:
Willingness to learn and adopt new techniques.
Organized individual with strong record keeping capabilities.
Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
