Our client, a world-leading Pharmaceutical Company in Andover, MA is currently looking for an Scientist (Fermentation Process, Bioreactors) to join their expanding team.
Job Title: Scientist (Fermentation Process, Bioreactors) / Pharma Industry
Duration: 18 months contract, extendable up to 36 months
Location: Andover, MA

Job Summary:
Join our dynamic team at Pharmaceutical as a Fermentation Process Development Engineer. In this role, you will design, optimize, and scale up fermentation processes for the production of biotechnological products.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure the successful translation of lab-scale processes to large-scale production.
Your expertise will contribute to the advancement of biotechnology and the development of high-quality pharmaceuticals, enzymes, and biofuels.
Responsibilities:
Design, optimize, and scale up fermentation processes for biotechnological product production.
Conduct experiments and analyze data to optimize fermentation conditions.
Collaborate with research scientists to select suitable strains or microorganisms.
Perform process optimization and troubleshooting to ensure consistent product output.
Develop process control strategies and collaborate with engineers on equipment design.
Work closely with quality control professionals to ensure regulatory compliance.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in fermentation technology and contribute to process improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field). 5-7 years true experience
Proven experience in fermentation process development, optimization, and scale-up.
Strong knowledge of microbial physiology, metabolism, and fermentation principles.
Proficiency in statistical analysis, experimental design, and process control systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
Experience with operating glass and stainless-steel laboratory bioreactors operations 1L to 100 L
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality assurance practices in biotechnology.
Physical/Mental Requirements: Involves typical bioprocessing lab and pilot plant activities.
Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel, or Environment Requirements:
1 -2 days per week requires routine out-of-hours working to support laboratory work.
Late night or early morning before normal business hours. Schedule is Monday - Friday.
