About the Role:
The Clinical Research Financial Administrator plays a pivotal role within the NCI-designated Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (CFCCC) at UC Irvine. The CFCCC is dedicated to advancing cancer research and patient care through a multidisciplinary approach, managing a robust portfolio of clinical trials under the Stern Center for Cancer Clinical Trials and Research. As part of this dynamic team, you will interface professionally with partners in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and clinical research organization (CRO) industries to oversee accounts receivable for our extensive clinical trial portfolio. This role is crucial in ensuring timely financial management to support our mission effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts receivable for a diverse portfolio of clinical trials, collaborating closely with external business partners.
- Utilize UC Irvine's financial systems and Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS), particularly Oncore, to streamline financial operations.
- Ensure compliance with clinical trial agreements and billing principles, demonstrating strong financial acumen and attention to detail.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to support staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Contribute to financial reporting and data management processes, leveraging spreadsheet and database software proficiently.
- Adapt to evolving priorities and demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced environment, maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience with clinical trial financial administration and familiarity with UC Irvine's financial systems (KFS, DSS, Data Warehouse, PI Report).
- Proficiency in Clinical Trials Management Systems, preferably Oncore, and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain confidentiality with integrity and honesty.
- Familiarity with internal control practices and compliance standards in financial operations.
