Job Description Summary

The Center for Weight and Eating Disorders at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator A. The candidate will help coordinate an NIH funded clinical trial. The NIH study is an investigation of the mechanisms of maintaining weight loss. This study involves a series of inpatient and outpatient assessment visits before and after the initial weight loss period, as well as at 4 and 12 months following the intervention. The CRC-A will coordinate participant study visits; coordinate regulatory paperwork; document and report adverse events; prepare study materials and order study specific supplies; ensure protocol adherence & data quality during the patient assessment visits; process blood and biological samples from the assessments; complete progress and data safety monitoring plan reports; maintain study charts; and enter study data. Training will be offered for these duties. Position is contingent on continued funding.

QualificationsThe minimum of a BA/BS and 1-3 years of clinical trial/clinical research experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Must have good interpersonal skills to maintain good rapport with participants in a long-term intervention trial. Must be able to work with a multidisciplinary team, handle blood and biospecimens, and enter data. Effective problem solving, communication, and writing skills are required. Must be able to multi-task. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently. Knowledge of IRB and human research protection regulations. Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
