Overview:

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: Assists Principal Investigator with the development and implementation of research activities conducted in the enterprise. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: subject recruitment, consenting families, assisting with research, data entry and analysis, grant preparation, professional presentations and preparation of manuscripts for publication.

 

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 1+ year clinical research experience with wet laboratory; neuroscience or genomics lab preferred. Familiarity with data collection and processing platforms such as REDCap, Qualtrics, SPSS, Matlab, and advanced Microsoft Office skills. Experience interacting with infants, children, parents and persons with intellectual disabilities. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, time management skills. Independent learning and problem-solving abilities. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet skills required. Basic filing, typing and organizing skills. Experience with blood and cerebrospinal fluid processing highly beneficial. Ability to accurately enter data into the computer system. Ability to speak and understand Spanish preferred. Data collection and management of multiple ongoing studies focused on children with neuroimmunologic disorders (e.g., multiple sclerosis) and Down syndrome.

 

1. Recruiting, screening and scheduling of participants
2. Sample collection and direct patient interaction
3. Administration of developmental assessments and psychometric tests
4. Administration of questionnaires and surveys to parents
5. Data management and documentation
6. Administrative duties such as updating IRBs, organizing and documenting meetings, etc.

 

Education/Licensure/Certification: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred in related scientific field preferred. Certified clinical research associate/coordinator preferred.

Pay Scale Information:CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
