Provides organizational, administrative, and clinical assistance for research studies. Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, provides a full range of duties in support of research patient visits, research staff, and investigators. Performs patient visits & phone calls, research data entry, and maintains meticulous records. Oversees study databases and coordinates meetings as needed. Experience and/or interest in blood specimen collection, processing, and shipping. Adheres to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines as set forth by the Federal regulations. Interacts with team members in a positive, productive, and professional manner. Interested in working with patients in oncology studies. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities & Requirements:Responsibilities/Skills
- Proficiency in computer software programs including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, MS Outlook or similar programs
- Preferred administrative experience supporting department personnel in senior leadership positions
- Excellent written, oral communication and critical thinking skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and schedules
- Epic knowledge preferred
- Affinity for data entry
- Detail-orientated/meticulous
- Medical terminology required (oncology terminology would be preferred)
- Performs pre-analytic processing of specimens; collects specimens; accessions, labels, secures, delivers and ships clinical specimens as required by study protocol.
- Maintains source documents and subject files in accordance with hospital procedures.
- Ensures accurate and complete compilation of subject data.
- Serves as a liaison between research office, ancillary departments across hospital, Clinical Research Coordinators and Principal Investigators.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Two years in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred
