CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST - Maryvale Behavioral Hospital - District Medical Group

District Medical Group, Inc. (DMG), a large multi-specialty faculty practice group, is seeking a licensed Clinical Psychologist to join our Psychology Department at Valleywise Behavioral Health Center Maryvale, a modern (completely renovated in 2019) hospital campus, to provide services to our hospitalized, and primarily seriously mentally ill, patients.

This is a full-time, benefits eligible position with a weekday work schedule.

The ideal candidate will exhibit flexibility, effective communication skills, and an ability to thrive in a consultative role. Psychologists within the department administer, score, and interpret psychologist tests, and write comprehensive yet concise reports of test results, clinical interview, and collateral sources of information. Common consultations involve psychological assessment of personality, cognition, intelligence, and diagnosis of patients within the hospital. Psychologists in our inpatient setting play a pivotal role in developing behavior plans for patients, working as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, other psychologists, psychiatry nurse practitioners, psychiatry RNs and social workers. Other responsibilities for psychologists within the department may be determined by an applicants background, knowledge, and experience with teaching, research, or other specific areas of interest. A faculty appointment to the Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix is also available.

A candidate must be a licensed psychologist in the State of Arizona prior to beginning employment.
