Job Description:
The Clinical Pharmacy Technician assists with fulfilling patient orders to ensure patients receive their medications on time. Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Operations Central Fill and Team Lead, the Clinical Pharmacy Technician provides support for medication dispensing, inventory management, patient safety, and facilitating medication orders to support compliance with treatment plans.
Clinical Pharmacy Technician Schedule & Location:
- Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Work Location: Onsite Plano TX 75024 United States
Clinical Pharmacy Technician Salary/Wage:
- $19.00 per hour
Clinical Pharmacy Technician Duties:
- Ensure confidentiality of patient/client care by complying with all federal and state laws applicable to PHI and EPHI; adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Coordinate delivery of medications to patients.
- Manage patient orders to the point of pharmacist verification, ensuring completeness and readiness for final verification.
- Access, input, and retrieve information through the pharmacy’s computer network to maintain accurate records.
- Utilize pharmacy systems technology and automation to optimize workflow and streamline the medication dispensing process.
- Maintain inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and liaise with suppliers to ensure availability of essential medications, reducing delays in patient care.
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure accurate and timely preparation and distribution of medications.
- Comply with established procedures, rules, and regulations, promoting teamwork, professional services, and clear communication.
- Recognize and adhere to the scope and limitations of job requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Clinical Pharmacy Technician Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Pharmacy Technician license or Pharmacy Technician Trainee license from the Texas State Board, not expiring within the next 3 months.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Capability to read and transcribe pharmaceutical information.
Clinical Pharmacy Technician Physical Requirements:
- Stand for long periods.
- Bend, reach, climb, squat, lift, push, or pull a minimum of 40 lbs.
Clinical Pharmacy Technician Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program.
