Clinical Pharmacist Specialist Infectious Disease
Novant Health is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist Infectious Disease, to join our acute care pharmacy team, to deliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care, every time.

Essential functions include:
+ Facilitates pharmaceutical care services, medication utilization systems within assigned services and care areas to ensure drug utilization activities are aligned with patient care needs, evidence- based best practices and regulatory standards
+ Expansion- Growth in Department
+ PGY2 Infectious Diseases Residency or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience in infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship, BCIDP preferred
+ Completes critical patient monitoring and reviews patient profile/ chart to identify, prevent, or mitigate drug- related problems,
+ Partners as an active member of multidisciplinary team and collaborates with healthcare providers within decentralized patient care areas to provide patient- centered care
+ Makes appropriate evidence-based, patient- centered medication recommendations
+ Participates in the management of medical emergencies
+ Provides discharge medication review, reconciliation, and counseling as appropriate
+ Maintains proficiency in and actively engages in central dispensing functions and operational programs
+ Oversees pharmacy operations and technician practice/activities
+ Maintains proficiency in preceptor roles and actively emulates education/ mentorship skills

Qualifications
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy, required.
+ Experience: ASHP accredited PGY2 infectious disease residency or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience in infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship, required. Clinical pharmacy experience in specialty area(s), preferred.
+ Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice pharmacy in the applicable State(s) and in good standing with the state Board of Pharmacy(ies) required. In the absence of a license to practice pharmacy in the applicable state, licensure, whether by examination or reciprocity, must be completed within 90 days of the date of hire. ACLS, BLS preferred. Board certification or added qualifications in infectious diseases, preferred.
+ Additional skills required: Minimum two years of hospital pharmacy experience. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed.
+ Additional skills preferred: Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and specific facility policies and procedures.
