Riverside University Health System hasper diem Clinical Pharmacist opportunities available for the Emergency/Critical Care/Inpatientdepartments of the Medical Center located in Moreno Valley, CA. Shifts are 10-12 hours, day or night as needed, with a minimum of one shift per week required (additional hours are available). This position is being re-posted to allow for a larger candidate pool. Ideal candidates for ED/CC positions will have:
- PGY-2 Critical Care or Emergency Medicine Specialty Residency OR
- PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency with 3 years of concentrated experience in the Critical Care or Emergency Dept. setting

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Duties and Responsibilities related to this position:
- Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services in the emergency room and critical care setting.
- Actively participate in resuscitations, traumas, and emergency response such as Code Blue, and Code Stroke. Respond to RRT (Rapid Response Team) activations which include all areas of the medical center.
- Respond to SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) call; prepare, and dispense appropriate prophylactic medications and provide medication consultation to patients in the unit response area.
- Perform dose verifications and distribution duties as needed.
- Review medication orders for appropriateness, identify drug-related problems, medication safety issues, etc.
- Serve as the pharmacotherapy expert in the ED setting and perform in-services/education accordingly. Provide supervision to ED pharmacy technicians as needed. Perform patient counseling and medication histories.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
OPTION I
Education: Graduation from a School of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm. D.). Pharm D. is required for all per diem positions currently.
Experience: One year of pharmacy residency preferred.
OPTION II
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
Experience: Three years of professional-level experience as a pharmacist in a hospital or healthcare facility.
ALL OPTIONS
License or Certificate : Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Licentiate in Pharmacy issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy and fulfillment of the continuing education requirements.
Possession of a current and maintained Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate issued by the American Heart Association.
Knowledge of: Federal, Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission, and DHS laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to patient care and dispensing of legend and non-legend pharmaceuticals and poisons; good customer (physicians, nurses, and patient) service; professional standards and practices.
Ability to: Provide quality pharmaceutical care; communicate clearly and effectively; work cooperatively with other staff and healthcare providers; organize, and manage routine and new responsibilities; retrieve and process patient and medication information; properly supervise and direct the work of supportive pharmacy personnel.

Per Diem employees participate in the 401(a) Temporary and Part-Time Employees' Retirement Plan and are required to contribute 3.75% of salary to the pension plan. The County contributes a matching amount.
