Clinical Nurse Specialist - CVICU

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our partner medical facility in Santa Clara, CA, specializing in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This role offers a unique opportunity to utilize your advanced clinical expertise and leadership skills to enhance patient care and outcomes in a critical care setting.

Responsibilities:

• Clinical Expertise: Provide expert consultation and guidance to nurses and other healthcare providers in the CVICU.
• Education & Mentorship: Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff, ensuring competency and adherence to best practices in cardiovascular care.
• Research & Evidence-Based Practice: Lead research initiatives and translate evidence-based findings into practice to improve patient care in the CVICU.
• Quality Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in patient care processes and outcomes, and lead initiatives to implement change in the CVICU.
• System Improvement: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall quality of care in the CVICU.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Master's degree in a clinical field of nursing or a clinical field related to nursing (e.g., psychology, public health, social work, education, health sciences, behavioral sciences, nutrition, bioethics) from a nationally accredited master's/post-master's nursing academic program.
• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the area of clinical specialty (CVICU or critical care).
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Active Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Certificate in California.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in California.
  • Current BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
• ACLS or PALS Certification.
