Key responsibilities:

• Quality control:

Maintaining quality standards by performing regular calibrations, proficiency testing, and monitoring test results for accuracy and consistency.

• Data interpretation:

Analyzing test results, identifying potential drug interactions, and interpreting findings within the context of patient clinical information.

• Reporting:

Preparing clear and concise toxicology reports for healthcare providers, including details of detected substances and their concentrations.

• Instrument maintenance:

Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, including troubleshooting malfunctions and performing routine maintenance.

• Compliance:

Adhering to all applicable regulations and guidelines related to clinical toxicology testing, including CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) standards.
Required qualifications:

• Education:

Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, chemistry, or a related field

• Certification:

California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license with a toxicology specialty

• Experience:

Prior experience in a clinical toxicology laboratory preferred

• Technical skills:

Proficiency in various toxicology testing methods, including liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS)
