Job Summary:
The Laboratory Manager performs laboratory analysis on received specimens, supporting clinical decision-making in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. This role is responsible for ensuring the overall quality, efficiency, and safety of the laboratory's operations.

Essential Functions:

• Adhere to quality assurance guidelines for testing procedures, documenting corrective actions when needed.
• Prepare reagents, maintain inventory, and manage materials to minimize waste and expenses.
• Use clinical judgment to assess priorities, troubleshoot, and resolve testing issues.
• Assist with procedure reviews and revisions, ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements (e.g., CAP, TJC, OSHA).
• Communicate shift-to-shift issues impacting patient care or departmental operations.
• Participate in staff meetings, task forces, and competency assessment programs.

Physical Requirements:

• Fast-paced clinical environment, handling biohazardous materials and potential chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards.
• Duties may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting light to moderately heavy loads (20-50 pounds).

Qualifications:

• Must be an ASCP registered Medical Technologist or equivalent.
• 6-10+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
