Clinical Lab Technician
Job Summary:
The Clinical Lab Technician is responsible for equipment maintenance in the onsite clinical labs. This includes general upkeep of maintenance records, testing equipment and stocking supplies.

Job Summary:
The Clinical Lab Technician is responsible for equipment maintenance in the onsite clinical labs. This includes general upkeep of maintenance records, testing equipment and stocking supplies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain equipment and procedures in lab setting.
- Assure proper use of sensor/ test equipment during clinical lab testing.
- Perform bench top chemistry, following established lab procedures
- Maintain lab inventory of reagents for lab equipment and stock of supplies for other clinical staff
- Assure use of proper clinical documentation during clinical testing.
- Assemble devices and equipment as needed in support of studies.
- Calibrate lab equipment on a regular schedule and maintain proper records related to calibration.
- Perform quality controls (QCs) on laboratory equipment and maintain proper records related to quality controls.
- Maintenance of equipment records and calibration records for equipment (including laboratory analyzers).
- Technical support of Principal Investigators performing research studies in clinical areas where pulse oximetry technology may be used.
- Assist physicians and nurses with study/ task completion.
- Assist in analysis of blood samples.
- Assist in documentation review related to lab activities.
- Perform proper specimen labeling, handling, preservation, processing, transportation, and storage of specimen.
- Coordinate equipment and supplies necessary for research studies.
- Set up system to facilitate raw data collection as directed.
- Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities.
- Facilitate the disposal and replacement of used supplies such as; gas tanks, expired reagents, or hazardous waste containers within DOT guidelines.
- Performs other duties or special projects as requested.
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
- One year or more of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in a chemistry or clinical lab.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
- Direct experience in vendor interactions and troubleshooting of devices.
- Ability to be an integral part of an innovative, fast paced Product Development Team.
- Previous experience in med device or lab environment.
- Ability to write clear, succinct, and detailed technical summary reports
- Basic understanding of FDA Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines for Medical Devices in conduct of clinical studies.
