Overview:

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: Performs a range of standard and/or technically demanding procedures in one or more of the Clinical Laboratory disciplines exercising initiative and independent judgment. Communicates technical or general information to their manager, director, & medical staff. Participate in administrative activities. Provides expertise and serves as a technical resource for others including less experienced members of the CLS team. Offers functional supervision to the support staff.

Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years of relevant clinical experience with at least 1 year in the area of specialty.

Education/Licensure/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in biology or related science required.

Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required.

ASCP Board of Registry certification as Medical Technologist, or other specialty preferred.

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
