We are searching for our next interns at our Valparaiso location!

Porter-Starke Services offers clinical internship opportunities for graduate/master’s level students studying in clinical social work, clinical mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, and clinical addictions counseling programs.  

Current Graduate Internships include:

· Beyond Boundaries/Experiential Therapy
Population: Children/Adults

Positions Available: 1-2 interns
Interns will initially practice group facilitation by leading team-building groups on a challenge course with elementary school students. In late fall, interns will transition into a clinical setting and facilitate experiential therapy groups for adult populations   at an inpatient, psychiatric hospital, an adult day-treatment setting, and with substance use disorder groups.

· Outpatient Therapy
Population: Children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of mental health concerns

Positions Available: 1-2 interns                                
Interns will have individual, group, and family contact with clients in an outpatient setting. They will perform initial diagnostic evaluations, including diagnosis and treatment planning, and provide individual, group, and/or family therapy under the supervision of an outpatient therapist.

· Recovery Center
Population: Adults with opioid use disorder

Positions Available: 1-2 interns (Valparaiso and/or La Porte)

Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Interns will work with individuals and groups in an outpatient opiate replacement treatment program. Interns will perform initial diagnostic evaluations, including diagnosis and treatment planning, and provide individual and group therapy under the supervision of a licensed addiction therapist and a psychiatrist who is an addictionologist.
