POSITION TITLE: Clinical Field Coordinator
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (SUMMARY)
The Clinical Field Coordinator is primarily responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical
student learning experiences in collaboration with program directors, program faculty, and agency
representatives. Teaching expectations are outlined in the faculty workload policy.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
In addition, the clinical field coordinator is expected to meet the faculty requirements of the discipline (as outlined in the ranked faculty job description).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Familiar with available clinical and field agencies.
Demonstrates strong organization, prioritization, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
Proficient with health science specific program accreditation agencies related to the appropriate discipline
and site(s).
PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND STANDARDS
1. Assists with clinical/field orientation and ongoing education of adjunct faculty/field/clinical instructors.
2. Utilizes appropriate evaluation strategies to determine effectiveness of the site(s).
3. Promotes collaborative relationships in order to promote positive learning environments for students and clinical/field instructors.
4. Participates in student, adjunct faculty, preceptors, and site evaluations as applicable in each program.
5. Participates in the maintenance of field/clinical agency contracts/affiliate agreements.
6. Participates in Medicare report completion as applicable by program.
7. Verifies site, student, preceptor & personnel requirements as outlined in field/clinical agency
contracts/affiliate agreements.
8. Responsible to communicate clinical site needs both internally and externally.
9. Reserves clinical sites each semester.
10. Assists in obtaining technology access for adjunct faculty as applicable in each program.
11. Maintains communication with the clinical agency representatives.
12. Complete site visits as applicable by program.
13. Supports the program director to help assure effective program operation
14. Maintains agency roster of all agencies used for clinical/field practicum experiences including name of agency, address of agency, type of agency, corresponding course(s) in which agency is used, indicate
use of field instructors and semester/quarter and year agency last used.
15. Reviews agency roster annually to ensure clinical/field site information is accurate with current site
information.
NURSING SPECIFIC

• Assures the delivery of planned clinical hours to meet student learning outcomes.
• Participates in lab and/or clinical instruction, program evaluation, and college governance.
• Coordinates selection of academically and experientially qualified preceptors with clinical agencies
• Maintains clinical contract addendums for precepting experiences
• Verifies preceptor licenses each semester
• Reviews and updates (on an annual basis) the Preceptor Data Form and Agreement according to
OBN law and rules, as well as facilitates completion of this form.
• Maintains annual chart for preceptors as defined by OBN law and rules.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMAND AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working conditions in the office areas are good. Position requires regular attendance, much mental activity, study, reading, planning, evaluating and decision making. If practicing duties related to clinical instruction (especially patient contact) hazards could include needle sticks and sharp instruments and bloody and bodily fluid exposure or any other hazard a health care worker might be exposed to in the normal performance of their duties.
Physical demands in the office are minimal with occasional lifting and/or carrying of such articles as records, files, or books - 10 pounds maximum. Operation of standard office equipment such as phone, computer, and copier occurs on a frequent basis.
Occasional irregular hours and travel (which may include clinical site visits).
Provide timely response to externally/internally imposed conditions and deadlines.
