Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to provide exceptional Life Cycle Systems Safety support to our executive team. The ideal candidate will possess education, experience, and accomplishments that will enable them to responsibly, effectively, and safely manage and interface medical devices, instruments, and systems for use during patient care. The candidate will have outstanding organizational skills, an initiative-taking mindset, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities:Essential Job Functions:
- Use risk analysis, data statistical analysis, safety and design engineering knowledge and knowledge of electrical, electronic, chemical, mechanical, environment, radiological and industrial engineering to advise on safety engineering and modifications.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis and provides recommendations for planned modifications to ensure compliance. Prepares formal reports identifying necessary modifications.
- Perform safety assessment required for material release.
- Responsible for assisting in the acquisition and management of medical device inventory.
- Collaborate with biomedical equipment technicians assigned to support an overall maintenance program for medical devices.
- Implement Life Cycle System Safety Program for all Programs supported.
- Prepare formal reports identifying necessary modifications.
- Serve on system safety working groups as needed.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Practical knowledge of risk analysis, data statistical analysis, safety and design engineering knowledge and knowledge of electrical, electronic, chemical, mechanical, environment, radiological and industrial engineering to advise on safety engineering and modifications.
- Ability and experience with conducting risk assessments and hazard analysis of medical systems.
- Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.
- Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to plan, conduct and record surveys and inspections.
- Knowledge of engineering principles, concept, policies, and regulations
- Knowledge of engineering design safety standards and regulations
- Knowledge of the operations, products, services, needs, and goals of the programs and the organizations studied or served and related customers, function, resources, and users.
- Ability to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques.
- Ability to analyze software specifications and identify software functions potentially contributing to system-level risks.
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition and life cycle management policies, procedures, and practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Applied Science, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering,
- Possess a valid certification issued by AAMI or ACCE.
- Or 7 to 9 years’ experience in clinical engineering or biomedical equipment technician (BMET) level III or IV.
- Practical experience with analyzing software specifications and identifying software functions potentially contributing to system-level risks.
- Must be able to obtain a CAC.
- US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of military systems
- Travel may be sporadic (10%) for offsite assessment and key engagements with higher headquarters
The salary range for this position is $75,750.00 -$101,000.00 annually.
