Clinical Director, Gender Affirming Care - White Plains
We invite dedicated and passionate professionals to join our dynamic medical services team. This key role primarily focuses on providing prenatal and reproductive health care in line with our established protocols. It also involves serving as the Clinical Director for our Gender Affirming Care (GAC) Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document a comprehensive health history encompassing obstetric, gynecologic, gender identity, sexual behaviors, contraceptive, medical, surgical, sexual, family health, and psychosocial aspects.
- Partake in the provision of a broad range of medical services including but not limited to gender affirming hormone therapy, family planning, abortion, prenatal, colposcopy, STD and infertility services.
- Perform thorough physical examinations with a focus on the reproductive system, including breast examination, pelvic examination, cancer screening tests, diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and additional specialized procedures as necessary.
- Supervise the Gender Affirming Care service and ensure adherence to our Medical Services and Guidelines.
- Provide guidance and consultation for complex cases related to Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy.
- Update and maintain the Gender Affirming Resources and Referrals Guide.
- Revise Medical Standards and Guidelines and practice protocols in line with the latest evidence for gender affirming care.
Additional Duties:
- Contribute to accomplishing patient-focused goals.
- Provide, order, and interpret diagnostic studies as required and permitted by our medical protocols.
- Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and other essential patient services management staff to plan and evaluate health services and programs.
- Provide direct patient care services in areas such as gender affirming hormone therapy, prenatal care, family planning, and medication abortion services.
- Recognize and manage deviations from normal health conditions using prescribed protocols.
- Impart relevant health instruction encompassing family planning, nutrition, sexual counseling, and principles of health promotion and maintenance.
- Collaborate with the health team and the wider community, including physicians, local health departments, social service agencies, nutritionists, dentists, and parent education groups to provide comprehensive care.
Note: In the absence of the Medical Laboratory Director, this role may also act as the Laboratory Supervisor.
