Summary:
Job Summary: Performs activities related to nutritional management/education of infant through adult patients for assigned divisions. Oversees the activities of diet technicians, dietetic interns, and dining service assistants. Manages these Nutrition Services personnel in day-to-day operations to provide quality care and promote patient safety. Develops and implements nutrition education programs targeted at hospital staff members including physicians, advanced-practice providers, nurses, ancillary staff, and students. Participates in departmental activities as outlined. Maintains professional competencies. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics by an institution that has been approved/accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Currently a Registered Dietitian (RD) through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Will consider a graduate of an approved/accredited ACEND program who is registration eligible. Currently a Licensed Dietitian through the State Medical Board of Ohio, or a Limited Permit holder through the State Medical Board of Ohio if registration eligible. Competent use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficient use of the electronic health record system. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in stressful environments. Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills. Ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Master of Science Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or other related field from an accredited institution. Board Certification in Nutrition Support. Experience working in a clinical setting. Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate face-to-face, by phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals.
