Job Description: | The Department of Environmental and Global Health in the College of Public Health and Health Professions is recruiting a non-tenure track instructional faculty member at the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will primarily be expected to teach up to three course sections each semester at the graduate and undergraduate levels, which may include, but is not limited to, Environmental Health Concepts, Global Public Health, Environmental Epidemiology, One Health, Social Determinants of Health, and Climate Change Impacts on Health. The position provides leadership opportunities to further develop dynamic distance learning programs and undergraduate minors and/or certificates, as well as contribute to existing program leadership. Engagement in research activities that complement the department’s mission is encouraged, but not required. Applicants will have a doctoral degree in an environmental- or global health-related field. Teaching experience in environmental/global health areas preferred. The Department of Environmental and Global Health (EGH) incorporates a dynamic faculty with expertise spanning environmental infectious diseases, viral discovery, toxicology and exposure science, aquatic systems and coastal community health, global health, AI and GIS, food and nutritional security, and occupational health and safety. EGH programs offer a Master of Health Science and doctoral degrees in Environmental Health and One Health. The College is part of UF’s Health Science Center that also includes the colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine. Department faculty also collaborate with the UF Emerging Pathogens Institute, the Institute of Child Health Policy, the UF Health Cancer Center, the UF Genetics Institute, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute and the McKnight Brain Institute, all of which provide state-of-the-art environments and large data sets access. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenure track, 12-month position, expected to start Spring or Fall of 2025. |
