Bone Marrow Transplant

The Bone Marrow Transplant Unit provides comprehensive care on a 24-hour,7 days per week basis.  It has 30 beds located in the Charles Lewis Pavilion.  Clinical activities include: IV therapy, blood/blood products administration (including stem cells), antineoplastic (high dose) and biotherapy administration, respiratory therapy, wound and drain care, blood glucose monitoring, pain management, supportive care, and patient and family education.

Position Summary
The Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM) is responsible forleading the shift operations within the clinicalsetting to ensure delivery of high-quality care, exceptional customer experience, and optimal patient flow. In conjunction with the Department Nursing Operations Manager and the Assistant Nursing Operations Manager (ANOM); the CANM provides guidance, fosters collaboration, and is responsible for the unit’s clinical operations including patient care assignments, customer experience, productivity, and quality outcomes in settings where patients have an advanced illness or injury that routinely requires timely, intense, and complex care to stabilize and support the patient’s medical condition. These areas require a lower caregiver-to-patient ratio and highly trained team members with advanced skills.

Education/Training
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred.

Licensure/Certification
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certification in area of expertise; preferred.
• May require one or more of the following certifications based on the assigned patient population:
o Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support(ACLS)
o Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
o Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
o Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)

Experience
A minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse; acute care setting preferred.
