Position Details:
Full-time role (40 hours/week), Monday to Friday, with flexible 8-hour shifts between 6:30 am - 3:00 pm CST.
Paid training lasting 4-6 weeks, conducted Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, onsite.
Telecommuters must adhere to company policy.
Primary Responsibilities:
Organize and maintain health information records.
Review electronic chart documentation for accuracy.
Process release of information (ROI) requests.
Manage documentation and information requests.
Scan and edit documents in the electronic medical record.
Locate, retrieve, file, and deliver medical records.
Distribute reports and results.
Provide training and mentorship to colleagues.
Analyze documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
Promote principles of health information accuracy and transparency.
Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for daily tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED.
Minimum 1 year of experience in health information management (HIM), health-related environment, or customer service.
Ability to travel onsite up to 10% of the time for training.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Flexibility to work any 8-hour shift between 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of customer service experience.
Experience in healthcare industry or health insurance.
Background in hospital, physician's office, or medical clinic settings.
Clerical or administrative support experience.
Call center experience.
RHIT or RHIA certification.
Telecommuting Requirements:
Reside within Minnesota or Wisconsin.
Maintain security of company-sensitive documents.
Have a dedicated work area with information privacy.
Access to UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet.
Physical and Work Environment:
Light Work: Lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently.
