About the Job
Coastal float position - opportunity to work in Newport and Lincoln City area primary care and specialty clinics. This per diem position will work various shifts to provide coverage. The position will receive a per diem differential and other appropriate differentials due to the needs of the Float Pool/Resource Team.
- JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
- Performs receptionist duties and provides clerical support for office. Greets patients and interfaces with hospital staff, clinical staff, patients, and visitors in a professional manner. May be responsible for obtaining prior authorization for office referrals and applying knowledge of current clinical diagnosis and billing codes.
- DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Primary and Specialty care teams at Samaritan Health Services offer complete health care for all family members from newborns to seniors through their pediatric, family medicine, internal medicine and specialty care providers. They encourage and offer preventive care, including annual exams, health screenings and counseling regarding health and lifestyle.
- EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One (1) year experience and/or training in a position of similar responsibility and complexity required.
- Experience and/or training in ICD-10 and CPT coding required.
- Experience and/or training with medical/insurance terminology required.
- Experience and/or training in computer applications required.

- Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
